Service Description

The NPLQ is a nationally recognised workplace qualification for the supervision, rescue and first aid response when working at a swimming pool. Cost £275 per person Venue Calday Grange Swimming Pool Gourleys Lane Caldy Wirral CH48 8AS Dates Monday 29th July from 9am till 5pm Tuesday 30th July from 9am till 5pm Wednesday 31st July from 9am till 5pm Thursday 1st August from 9am till 5pm Friday 2nd August from 9am till 5pm Duration NPLQ is a 40 hour course delivered across 5 days, including an assessment on the final day. This course also requires 10 hours of home study. ​Content Section 1 – The Lifeguard and the Law, Swimming Pool Supervision Element 1 – The Lifeguard and the Law Element 2 – Swimming Pool, Hazards and Control Measures Element 3 – Swimming Pool Supervision Section 2 – Intervention and Rescue and Emergency Action Plans Element 1 – Intervention and Rescue Element 2 – Rescue of a Casualty with a Suspected Spinal Injury Element 3 – Emergency Action Plan Section 3 – Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, AED and First Aid Element 1 – Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Element 2 – First Aid Element 3 – Automated External Defibrillation (AED)​ Entry requirements 16+ years Jump/dive into deep water Swim 50 metres in less than 60 seconds Swim 100 metres continuously on front and back in deep water Tread water for 30 seconds Surface dive to the deepest part of the pool Climb out the pool unaided ​​ Assessment Assessment for the NPLQ takes place at the end of the course. It determines your knowledge and understanding of the principles of working as a pool lifeguard and assesses your ability to apply the skills and knowledge in a work-related environment. ​ Renewal The NPLQ is valid for 2 years from the date of the assessment. Candidates may renew their qualification by booking a renewal assessment before the 2 year period has expired.

In the event that you wish to cancel your booking then we will do our best to provide you with a full refund if this is appropriate. Unfortunately as we get nearer to the start of the course then this may not be a possibility. More than 14 days till the course begins We will issue you with a full refund, this may take up to 28 days to be processed. Within 14 - 7 days of the course starting We will offer you a 50% refund Within 7 days of the course starting We can not offer any refund at this late notice
