Who is the award for? This award is ideal for those who deliver structured activities such as swimming lessons, aquacise or swim club and want to be trained in how to supervise and respond effectively in the event of an emergency. Taken from the RLSS website: NRASTC is a supervision and rescue award for swimming teachers, coaches and (or) instructors working during programmed activities, such as swimming lessons. It is suitable for teachers working in a wide range of swimming pools where the water depth is higher than the teachers’ standing depth and meets the individual facility’s Risk Assessment. It is a non-regulated award. What are the prerequisites? Be at least 16 years of age Swim a minimum of 50 metres on your front and back Surface dive to the deepest part of the pool Climb out unaided without using steps or ladders (where venue design permits). When is the course taking place? Monday 18th May from 9am till 330pm - First Aid Tuesday 19th May from 9am till 12pm - PXB Wednesday 20th May from 9am till 330pm - Theory & Pool Rescues Cost Full NRASTC course including PXB (Attend all 3 days) - £150 per person Full NRASTC course without PXB (Attend days 1 & 3) - £150 per person NRASTC Light course without first aid (Attend day 3 only) - £120 per person Venue Halton Leisure Centre, Moor Lane, Widnes Additional info This course is taking place at a pool which is 2m deep. The use of a PXB is included on this particular course if you attend day 2.
