Overview The SEQ Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) qualification is a practical qualification which will give you the skills needed to support a swimming teacher. Successful completion of this qualification will allow learners to assist a qualified level 2 swimming teacher in delivering high quality inclusive swimming lessons. Venue Calday Grange Swimming Pool Gourleys Lane West Kirby Wirral CH48 8AS Dates This course is being delivered in a blended format meaning that you will begin your course with an online session via Zoom on day 1, followed by 4 hours of e-learning on day 2, then 2 full days in person on day 3 & 4. Thursday 12th December from 5pm till 9pm (Online via Zoom) Friday 13th December at anytime (4 x 1 hour sessions of e-learning) Saturday 14th December from 8am till 6pm (In person) Sunday 15th December from 8am till 6pm (In person) Pre Requisites Learner must be 16 years of age or older on the first day of the course. Cost £350 per person Content You will learn about: The legal aspects of assisting in swimming lessons The responsibilities of a Swimming Assistant The learn to swim frameworks Scientific principles of swimming What makes up a lesson plan, equipment and communications skills How to identify anxiety and use of motivational techniques The type of assistance you can provide Identify your next career steps Progression Following completion of this qualification, you may wish to progress to the SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming qualification or the SEQ Level 2 Teaching Swimming to Babies and Toddlers qualification. You may also wish to take further qualifications within the swimming industry.
